- Coordination and evaluation of the education and training program to the Drug & Alcohol multidisciplinary workforces, including in-service schedules, staff orientation, clinical skills and competencies, and other professional development activities.
- Establishment of the Drug & Alcohol Service as an active participant in the SESLHD GradStart program by coordinating and evaluating rotational placements for graduate nurses.

About the Role

Role

The Registered Nurse is responsible to the Nursing Unit Manager with a professional reporting line to the Clinical Co-Director Gynaecology Services. The Registered Nurse will liaise and communicate with the Clinical Nurse Consultant - Gynaecology Specialty Services, Gynaecology Outpatient Administration Officers, nursing and allied health staff and medical staff.
The Gynaecology Outpatient Department is a dedicated area comprising fourteen consulting and procedure rooms and is located on level 2 within the Royal Hospital for Women.
The Gynaecology Outpatient Department provides a comprehensive range of speciality ambulatory services including Benign Gynaecology, Endogynaecology, Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology, Menopause, Chronic Pelvic Pain, Contraception, Vulval Health , Urogynaecology, Surgical Preadmission, and procedure clinics including Hysteroscopy, insertion and removal of intra-uterine devices, Urodynamics and Colposcopy.
Services are provided on a referral basis for adult, adolescent and paediatric patients at a tertiary and quaternary level from the local community, and within NSW. Services are also provided to patients within the Randwick Hospital Campus, including from Prince of Wales and Sydney Children's Hospital.
The Registered Nurse is responsible to the Nursing Unit Manager with a professional reporting line to the Clinical Co-Director Gynaecology Services. What you'll be doingThe vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is 'exceptional care, healthier lives'. SESLHD's Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Services (SHBBV) provide leadership, innovation and research in the sector. Services within SHBBV are involved in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of Sexually Transmissible Infections (STIs) and blood borne viruses at an individual and population level within SESLHD, as well as four statewide services. Across these services, care is provided via fixed locations and outreach networks to a client base of approximately 28,000 individuals. SHBBV has highly skilled and diverse staff including nursing, medical, allied health, health promotion, administrative and technical staff. It is the largest SHBBV service in Australia. The Kirketon Road Centre (KRC) is a targeted primary health care facility located in Kings Cross involved in the prevention, treatment and care of HIV/AIDS and other transmissible infections among 'at risk' young people, sex workers, people who inject drugs, people experiencing homelessness, Aboriginal people and LGBTIQ people.

- Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award in Social Work (eligible for member of AASW) or Counselling, OR Qualifications in accordance with Health & Community Employees Psychologists (State Award 2023) with current AHPRA registration and full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Extensive post graduate clinical experience in drug and alcohol, mental health or homeless health.

About the Role
Sydney Education is the education and training service for SLHD. Sydney Education provides a wide range of development opportunities to both the clinical and non-clinical workforce. This pivotal role will drive workforce development, build educational capability, and support high-quality patient care across a service comprising 18 medium secure and 24 low secure forensic mental health beds located at the Concord Centre for Mental Health. As the service transitions into its next phase of operation, you will be responsible for developing and delivering a strategic education agenda that supports staff capability, professional growth, and excellence in forensic mental health care.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as Registered Nurse/Midwife and relevant post registration nursing/midwifery clinical or education qualifications or qualifications deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Commitment to professional development of self and others including reflective practice and the ability to identify areas for growth.
- Ability to produce high quality written documents including educational resources, evaluation reports and other documents.
- Comprehensive understanding of health education and training priorities at a local and state level.
