The department of respiratory medicine comprises sessional medical specialists, advance trainees in respiratory medicine, basic physician trainees and HMOs. We provide clinical care for all respiratory conditions including non-invasive ventilation or refer to super-specialist services (eg cystic fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension) where appropriate.

We offer comprehensive lung function and cardio-pulmonary exercise testing and overnight polysomnography with laboratories staffed by high quality and committed scientists.

We provide diagnostic and interventional bronchoscopy services.

We are supported by high quality diagnostic and interventional radiological services.

The position is for a casual / locum respiratory physician.

Key responsibilities may include provision of ward service and out-patient consulting services as per the Position Description.

Essential Criteria Registerable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration

Essential Criteria FRACP with Subspecialty Recognition in Respiratory Medicine

Desirable Criteria FRACP with Subspecialty Recognition in Sleep Medicine

Desirable Criteria Up to date skills in interventional bronchoscopy - including linear and radial EBUS, transbronchial biopsy, and cryobiopsy.

About the Program

The Aboriginal Cadetship program for Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health students aims to include delivery of supportive structures within the organisation and a minimum of eight weeks (40 roster shifts) over a six-month period in casual capacity. In a hospital setting, the cadetship role provides support to the allied and nursing staff in the delivery of safe, personal, effective and connected care. The elements of patient care will be delegated in accordance with the professional judgement of the supervising Health Professional and in accordance with the level of achieved education preparation and assessed competence of the individual Cadet. The role will include tasks such as observation of clinical procedures and therapeutic interventions; assisting with patients' activities of daily living; and providing wellbeing support through effective communication. The position offers access to culturally safe professional support; peer support, learning activities and development of professional affiliations and potential career pathways.

Cadets will be offered paid shifts throughout the program, with flexibility to support study requirements, placements, and personal commitments.

We are seeking a locum Nephrologist to supervise and see patients in a Wednesday afternoon CKD clinic. The clinic run from 130 pm until 430 pm for patient consultation and 430-530 pm for end of clinic case discussion with Renal Advanced Trainee (Renal AT) and a Basic Physician Trainee (BPT). The whole clinic, inclusive of all patients seen by Renal Advanced Trainee and the BPT is about 15 patients.

Bayside Health Peninsula, at present have 4 Nephrologists, 2 Nephrology Nurse Practitioners, 3 satellites haemodialysis units, a 4-chair acute dialysis unit, high level ICU services, acute vascular and chronic vascular services, comprehensive imaging and interventional radiology services, chronic haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis services, CKD education and CKD programme and comprehensive outpatient clinics (CKD, CKD education, HD, PD). There are regular histopathology sessions with a Renal Histopathologist and there is a weekly programme for CME and unit meetings.

• Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent
