The SESLHD Mental Health Service is a specialised clinical service, providing care to a local population of over 930,000 residents in the Sydney metropolitan area. We provide care within both hospital and community settings to support people living with mental illness at times when acute intervention is needed, or to remain well in their community and lead their own recovery.
The South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) Mental Health Service is seeking an energetic, professional, results-oriented and self-motivated individual to inspire and support staff to deliver best clinical care through robust quality management. This role ensures the quality and standards of care of all service areas meet compliance requirements across regulatory, accreditation and quality standards, and are underpinned by contemporary evidence-based practice. The position builds and maintains strong stakeholder relationships within the Mental Health Service and across SESLHD more broadly.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in health management or quality auditing and business compliance or relevant equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience.

- Implementation of the Workforce Development Package for the AOD NSW Health Clinical Care Standards for AOD Treatment.
- Coordination and evaluation of the education and training program to the Drug & Alcohol multidisciplinary workforces, including in-service schedules, staff orientation, clinical skills and competencies, and other professional development activities.
- Establishment of the Drug & Alcohol Service as an active participant in the SESLHD GradStart program by coordinating and evaluating rotational placements for graduate nurses.

The Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) is the registered nurse in charge of a ward/unit or group of wards/units or a service within SESLHD. The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality nursing care to patients of the Gynaecology Outpatient Department consistent with SESHLD policies, procedures and standards.
The Registered Nurse is responsible to the Nursing Unit Manager with a professional reporting line to the Clinical Co-Director Gynaecology Services. The Registered Nurse will liaise and communicate with the Clinical Nurse Consultant - Gynaecology Specialty Services, Gynaecology Outpatient Administration Officers, nursing and allied health staff and medical staff.
The Gynaecology Outpatient Department is a dedicated area comprising fourteen consulting and procedure rooms and is located on level 2 within the Royal Hospital for Women.
The Gynaecology Outpatient Department provides a comprehensive range of speciality ambulatory services including Benign Gynaecology, Endogynaecology, Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology, Menopause, Chronic Pelvic Pain, Contraception, Vulval Health , Urogynaecology, Surgical Preadmission, and procedure clinics including Hysteroscopy, insertion and removal of intra-uterine devices, Urodynamics and Colposcopy.
Services are provided on a referral basis for adult, adolescent and paediatric patients at a tertiary and quaternary level from the local community, and within NSW. Services are also provided to patients within the Randwick Hospital Campus, including from Prince of Wales and Sydney Children's Hospital.
The Registered Nurse is responsible to the Nursing Unit Manager with a professional reporting line to the Clinical Co-Director Gynaecology Services. We seek an innovative and person-oriented Staff Specialist Psychiatrist to join the Adult Community Team at the Prince of Wales Hospital (POWH), Randwick, as part of the ESMHS.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide specialist psychiatric care, oversight and leadership within a dedicated, multidisciplinary team to deliver care to people living with serious mental health challenges.
About The RoleYou will be a senior medical member of the Adult Community Mental Health Service (ACMHS), a multidisciplinary team based service that includes specialist mental health nurses (including a GP liaison CNC), psychologists, allied health clinicians, and peer support workers. You will be working in a service alongside other senior medical officers, and psychiatry trainees. The goals of the ACMHS is to deliver consumer-focused, contemporary and meaningful care that meets the needs of consumers across several phases of care. Our ability to provide care coordination to consumers with
varied needs is supported by the many specialist facets of our service.
Our team based model is founded on the principles of collaborative and shared decision making between the senior medical member, clinical manager and team clinicians. Our teams are headed by a clinical manager, who works closely with the psychiatrist and clinicians to co-ordinates the multidisciplinary team activities. The ESMHS has 5 teams across two sites, and your position will be to provide leadership and clinical care in one of these teams. You are encouraged to work with your clinical manager and team to develop your own ways of working.
Our Adult Community teams are also supported by close linkages with other teams and NGOs. Consumers can engage with secondary support teams such as the Keeping Body in Mind (KBIM) teams, complex physical health clinicians, rehabilitation clinicians, and Pathways to Community Living (PCLI) initiatives.
Your Clinical Duties Will Encompass- Providing leadership, expert psychiatric evaluation, care and treatment planning in the Adult Community Mental Health Service.
- There is also opportunity to contribute to our ECT service and develop skills in this area.
- Actively participating in multidisciplinary team discussions in clinical review meetings.
- Liaising with inpatient and emergency psychiatry teams to ensure continuity of care and to facilitate transitions between areas of the service over your consumers journey.
- Providing oversight around use of the Mental Health Act in the community setting.
- Leading service improvement projects focused on optimising care in the community setting and during transitions of care between different settings.
- Evaluating clinical interventions to improve patient outcomes, reduce restrictive practices, increase connection with GP care, and support safer transitions of care.
- Contributing to the academic profile of the service through scholarly activity and collaboration with local research institutes and universities.

The RoleThe Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 within the Community Wound Care Unit provides expert clinical leadership and complex, client-centred consultancy across community and specialist wound care services at Prince of Wales Hospital. The role leads the advancement of clinical practice through supervision, education and mentoring of nursing staff, development of evidence-based practice standards and specialist education resources, and participation in state and national initiatives. The CNC Grade 2 applies and contributes to research, disseminates specialist knowledge, and drives strategic service improvements through the development, implementation and evaluation of innovative clinical practices, service plans and complex projects. The role also works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to strengthen quality, safety, patient outcomes and the delivery of contemporary, evidence-based community wound care.
Where You'll be WorkingPrince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. Selection Criteria- Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and current NSW Driver's License and willingness to travel as required in role.
- Having at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field. In addition, must have approved postgraduate nursing qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she is appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation. An employer may also require a higher qualification in the specialist nursing field where such a qualification is considered essential for the performance of the individual position.
- Demonstrated ability to apply clinical expertise in a consultant role and the ability to work independently.
