About the Role
You will be working at Concord Repatriation General Hospital. The hospital has a well-earned reputation for excellence in healthcare for over 70 years. - Demonstrated high level verbal, written and interpersonal skills, including the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.

John Hunter Hospital (JHH) in NSW, is the largest tertiary teaching hospital outside Sydney, offering a range of Medical, Surgical, Maternity and Critical Care services. You will be joining a team of 25 dietitians ranging from new graduates, student educators, clinical specialists and dietetic leaders that work across John Hunter Hospital (JHH), Belmont District hospital (BDH) and Rankin Park Centre (RPC). The Opportunity
This role is ideal for a new graduate who is passionate about dietetics and excited to start their career in a fast paced acute hospital setting. No two days will be exactly the same! Your focus will be on building your clinical knowledge, developing practical skills and providing high quality, patient centred nutrition care to a diverse range of inpatients. Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you'll be the nutrition expert on the ward advocating for evidence based care and helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes through nutrition.
Starting your first dietetics role can feel exciting (and maybe a little daunting!), so you won't be expected to navigate it alone. You will be joining a team that understands what it's like to be a new graduate. We're here to support you, answer your questions and help you grow into a confident clinician. You'll be supported by the JHH Nutrition and Dietetics leadership team, with an initial orientation to the department, your allocated workload and the clinical systems used across HNELHD. You'll also have access to ongoing clinical supervision as you develop your skills and confidence. As a new graduate, you'll attend the HNELHD monthly new graduate education sessions, as well as JHH/BDH continuing professional development (CPD) sessions. These provide opportunities to build your knowledge, learn from experienced clinicians and connect with other dietitians across the service. Throughout your contract, you will get the opportunity to be involved in a small quality improvement project
Details of the Role
Contract: Temporary full time, mid February 2027 to mid February 2028. If available, there may also be an opportunity to commence part time from December 2026.
JHH caseload: Initially, the caseload is expected to include general medicine and/or orthopaedics and may change throughout the contract.
Weekend work: You may be required to participate in the weekend roster and/or work across other sites during the contract.

Role

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality nursing care to patients of the Gynaecology Outpatient Department consistent with SESHLD policies, procedures and standards.
The Registered Nurse is responsible to the Nursing Unit Manager with a professional reporting line to the Clinical Co-Director Gynaecology Services. The Registered Nurse will liaise and communicate with the Clinical Nurse Consultant - Gynaecology Specialty Services, Gynaecology Outpatient Administration Officers, nursing and allied health staff and medical staff.
The Gynaecology Outpatient Department is a dedicated area comprising fourteen consulting and procedure rooms and is located on level 2 within the Royal Hospital for Women.
The Gynaecology Outpatient Department provides a comprehensive range of speciality ambulatory services including Benign Gynaecology, Endogynaecology, Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology, Menopause, Chronic Pelvic Pain, Contraception, Vulval Health , Urogynaecology, Surgical Preadmission, and procedure clinics including Hysteroscopy, insertion and removal of intra-uterine devices, Urodynamics and Colposcopy.
Services are provided on a referral basis for adult, adolescent and paediatric patients at a tertiary and quaternary level from the local community, and within NSW. Services are also provided to patients within the Randwick Hospital Campus, including from Prince of Wales and Sydney Children's Hospital.
The Registered Nurse is responsible to the Nursing Unit Manager with a professional reporting line to the Clinical Co-Director Gynaecology Services. Selection Criteria
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others
- Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery and to guide others in providing service excellence
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations
- Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Registered Nurse in applying these principles
- Clinical experience in Gynaecological Nursing, acute Women's Health and/or clinic/outpatient setting is desirable but not essential with a demonstrated commitment to professional development.

About the roleAs our Community Services Consultant for the Disability Gateway, you will be the first point of contact for clients seeking support with information, services, and referrals. The Disability Gateway is a national program that assists people with disability, their families, and carers to find and access services across Australia.
In this role, you will connect with people who each have unique needs and circumstances. By listening with empathy and providing clear, accurate guidance, you will create an experience where clients feel heard, respected, and supported. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

We want you to be successful in your new role! This means you'll have:
Degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services or a related human services field.
Experience delivering intensive casework with vulnerable children and families, ideally within family preservation, child protection or community-based support programs.
Sound understanding of trauma-informed practice, child safety and risk assessment, with the ability to identify and respond to child protection concerns.
Strong communication and engagement skills, including culturally safe practice and effective collaboration with families and service partners.
Practical requirements, including confidence with case documentation and systems, a current NSW Driver's Licence and NSW Working With Children Check.

Key Responsibilities:- Clinical Management: Participate in the diagnosis, assessment, and management of hip and knee patients, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.
- Surgical Exposure: Assist in and perform a variety of hip and knee procedures, including primary and revision joint replacements, arthroscopic surgeries, fracture management, and soft tissue repair.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work in a multidisciplinary team environment, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, radiologists, and nursing staff, to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Patient Education: Counsel patients on surgical and non-surgical options, including the risks, benefits, and expected outcomes of various treatment modalities.
- Research and Quality Improvement: Engage in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives related to hip and knee surgery. Fellows will have the opportunity to publish findings and contribute to ongoing projects in collaboration with senior staff.
- Teaching and Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior doctors, medical students, and allied health professionals involved in the hip and knee service.

- Overseas trained specialists with currently assessed by the relevant Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and, as a result, gain limited registration with AHPRA on a specialist pathway satisfactory to the college, AHPRA and the Local Heath District prior to commencement.
- Experience: Completion of orthopaedic training and be proficient in fundamental surgical skills.
- Interest in Specialisation: A demonstrated interest in hip and knee surgery with an eagerness to pursue further specialisation in the field.
- Professionalism: High standards of clinical care, patient communication, and collaboration within a team environment.
- Research Aptitude: Interest in clinical or translational research related to hip and knee arthroplasty is highly encouraged.
