The Claims Treatment Specialist, Pharmacy role will see you utilise your expertise as pharmacist to provide advice on medication management, communicate with injured workers and doctors, and collaborate with prescribers to support safe and appropriate treatment. A key focus of the role is managing high risk medications through harm minimisation strategies, including engaging with doctors and injured workers, conducting medication reviews, reducing reliance on high-risk medications, and supporting holistic recovery outcomes. The role sits with EMLs Nominal Insurer portfolio. You will provide expert advice, optimise medication plans, and support recovery outcomes in line with regulatory requirements. The role also involves education stakeholders and operational team members on medication related matters. As the position continues to evolve, it requires someone who is flexible, proactive and committed to refining processes and contributing to continuous improvement. You will hold current AHPRA registration as a pharmacist and bring strong clinical experience, particularly with high-risk medications such as pain management therapies, opioids and medicinal cannabis. Your experience may include community pharmacy, as well as hospital or aged care settings. This is a full-time, max term contract to 30 June 2027 based in the Sydney office, with work-from-home flexibility (up to 3 days per week) considered from month three, subject to performance and approval. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement strategies to optimise medication and treatment management. Assess high-risk medication use and provide clinical opinions on treatment strategies. Liaise with treatment providers to negotiate medication types, dosages, and utilisation. Educate injured workers, employers, and stakeholders on medication use and risks. Identify the need for and refer to external services like Pharmacy Reviews or Independent Medical Examinations. Provide training and support to operational team members on medication management best practices. ABOUT YOU A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is essential along with AHPRA registration 5 years clinical experience required Demonstrated experience in clinical practice Well established knowledge of disability and injury management best practice An understanding and experience in the personal injury industry, ideally with knowledge of workers compensation legislation would be highly desirable. What You'll Be Doing

• Provide specialist assistance and guidance to team members regarding all facets of claims management strategy.
• Provide hands on support to claims teams, partner with Case Managers to work towards safe and sustainable RTW outcomes.
• Undertake discussions with case managers to ensure soundly based rehabilitation & RTW goals are established to allow for focused RTW activity.
• Maintain engagement with Occupational Rehabilitation providers to ensure collaboration around safe and sustainable RTW for injured workers.
• Provide specialist advice on complex claims strategy as well as undertaking RTW activities, inclusive of direct engagement with external stakeholders.
• Review and provide feedback on current claims management practices, ensuring emerging trends are identified and managed.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in workers compensation is essential, with a strong background in injury management and supporting safe, sustainable return to work outcomes.
• Strong relationship building skills, with the ability to engage injured workers, employers, treating health professionals and internal teams to support positive outcomes.
• Experience identifying barriers to return to work and developing practical strategies to overcome them.
• Sound understanding of relevant workers compensation legislation, regulations and guidelines, with the ability to interpret and apply them in practise.
• Experience providing training, coaching and specialist advice to strengthen the capability of claims teams.
• Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health, including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation, Nursing, Psychology, Social Work or Exercise Science, are highly regarded.
