About the Opportunity

For many young people, a first experience of psychosis can feel confusing and overwhelming.

At headspace Darwin, we help young people aged 12-25 find hope, understanding and a pathway to recovery at one of the most critical moments of their lives.

We're looking for a skilled, compassionate clinician to join our Early Psychosis team, working within the Australian Early Psychosis Program (AEPP) model of care. This is a rare opportunity to provide wrap around, evidence based, long term support, not just short term crisis responses.

In this role, you'll:

• Deliver youth friendly, recovery focused assessment and therapeutic interventions for young people experiencing symptoms of psychosis
• Support clients from initial presentation through to ongoing engagement and recovery
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and collaborative safety planning
• Work closely with families, carers and external services using a "no wrong door" approach
• Practice within a strength based, trauma informed and culturally safe framework, including working alongside young Aboriginal people and their families
• Contribute to group programs, community education and service development

To be successful you will:

• An approved tertiary qualification in a relevant health discipline (e.g. Social Work, Psychology, OT, Mental Health Nursing)
• Current registration with AHPRA or professional membership (e.g. AASW)
• Experience delivering mental health interventions with young people
• Confidence in risk assessment, safety planning and collaborative care
• Ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, their families, communities, staff, and Aboriginal controlled organisations

Your opportunity Reporting to the Senior Professional Services Hub Manager, you'll work across Anglicare and with external organisations to create safe, engaging and dynamic learning experiences. You'll also build relationships with stakeholders across schools, government, community organisations and businesses, identifying opportunities to expand the reach and impact of Anglicare's training and group work services.

• Design and facilitate engaging accredited and non-accredited training, psychoeducational and therapeutic group programs.
• Deliver programs across areas including mental health, wellbeing, domestic violence, parenting, child development and child safety.

What you'll bring

You're an engaging and confident facilitator who knows how to create a learning environment where people feel safe to participate, reflect and grow. You bring professional knowledge in counselling, psychology, social work or a related discipline, together with the ability to translate complex and sensitive topics into practical, meaningful learning experiences. You're equally comfortable facilitating a group, designing a new program, building stakeholder relationships and working independently to deliver agreed outcomes. What's required:

• Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or a related discipline, with registration with the relevant professional body.
• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or at least five years' training experience in a similar role.
• At least three years' demonstrated experience designing and delivering accredited and non-accredited training and group programs.
• Demonstrated experience facilitating programs across areas such as domestic violence, suicide prevention, mental health or child safety.
• Current unrestricted Driver's Licence and ability to meet required probity checks, including Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
