Anglicare WA is seeking a dynamic leader to head integrated mental health care across the Pilbara. Based in Karratha, you will deliver trauma-informed, person-centred mental health support for people aged 16+ via the IPMHC program.

The Head of Clinical Education & Professional Development leads the strategy, design and delivery of clinical education, workforce capability and professional development programs across residential care, home care and community services.

This role plays a critical part in strengthening clinical capability, leadership and professional practice, ensuring our people have the knowledge, skills and support needed to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care. The role also leads the development of a thriving Clinical Community of Practice, promoting collaboration, shared learning and evidence-based practice across the organisation.

• Lead the clinical education and professional development strategy across the organisation.
• Build workforce capability through education, competency, supervision and professional development programs.
• Establish and maintain a high-performing Clinical Community of Practice.
• Drive learning from incidents, investigations and reviews to strengthen practice and improve care outcomes.
• Use data and workforce insights to identify learning needs and capability priorities.
• Support clinical governance, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coach, mentor and influence leaders and clinicians across services and regions.

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Nursing, Allied Health, Education, Health Management or a related field.
• Current AHPRA registration (where applicable).
• Significant leadership experience in clinical education, workforce capability, clinical governance or quality within aged care.
• Strong understanding of the Aged Care Act 2024, Aged Care Quality Standards and clinical governance requirements.
• Experience designing and delivering education, competency and professional development programs at scale.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform capability planning and improvement.
• Proven ability to lead teams and influence practice across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.

Larrakeyah Health Centre is located on Larrakeyah Defence Precinct in Larrakeyah (NT) and delivers a range of health services to Defence personnel. It's a busy, vibrant, and unique clinical environment offering a variety of clinical challenges as well as leadership and continuous improvement opportunities.

Our Health Centres and clinics support all defence members and their families across the area, providing a range of services including preventive medicine, musculoskeletal health, pre-deployment medicals, mental health and psychological support, as well as emergency medicine. We play a key role in ensuring the overall health and wellbeing of all our members on base.

• Perm Fulltime Position - Monday - Friday

Our Senior Clinician is a civilian GP and a senior member of the management team within the region. Balancing both clinical and administrative responsibilities across the Larrakeyah Defence Precinct, you will be responsible for:

• Providing information, advice, and recommendations on medical issues and specialist medical services to the Health Centre manager
• General Practice consultations, referrals, health screenings and liaison with allied health professionals
• Provision of occupational health services and preventative health care
• Participating in quality and governance improvement including, giving subject matter expertise advice to clinical incident and complaints management and performance management processes
• Providing workforce advice and support including adequate staffing levels within department and supervision of clinical staff
• Conducting team meetings and staff training activities
• Managing the delivery of services against benchmark standards and other clinical governance Key Performance Indicators

This is an incredible role for clinician with a focus on mentorship, clinical leadership and continuous improvement to join our Health Centre and make a real contribution to the provision of health services to our defence force members.

Please note: You must be an Australian citizen and be able to attain and maintain a baseline security clearance from the Defence security and vetting service.

We're looking for someone who:

• has excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• works well with both people and details - this role involves interactions with both clinical and non-clinical team members as well as working with lots of legislative frameworks, nuanced processes and compliance activity - so you'll need to be great at both
• has strong management skills including leadership, conflict resolution and an understanding of medical ethics and medico legal issues
• Has a genuine commitment to mentor, lead and grow internal talent and champion a meaningful career pathway for our clinicians

You will also require:

• Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a medical practitioner in Australia with AHPRA
• A Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or Vocational Registration
• Post Graduate Qualifications in Health Management (Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Masters, PhD or Doctorate) or commitment to working toward same (Bupa supported fees!)
