The Clinical Competency Program Practice Development Nurse is responsible for facilitating health service wide Clinical Competency Programs to ensure best practice by providing educational opportunities for clinicians. An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated early childhood professional to lead the development and implementation of a child and family support framework for Open Support Domestic & Family Violence Service. Your knowledge and experience in working with children and families who have experienced trauma will help to guide service delivery and drive the provision of high-quality, child centred, trauma informed, support. • Oversee the daily clinical operations of the care home ensuring our residents receive the best care available.
• Support and lead the care home clinical team including coaching, mentoring, staff allocations and delegation, performance management and education.
• Review clinical incidents, complaints and changes, providing solutions to reduce any risks.
• Lead compliance with AN-ACC assessments.
• Manage person-centred care planning and evaluation for residents - including case conferencing with families and carers.
• Fostering a strong team environment.
• Prepare and conduct clinical governance audits.
• Provide insights and innovative solutions for continuous clinical improvement.
• Oversee medication management in accordance with resident needs and legislative requirements.
• Liaise with allied health, medical practitioners and other services to provide optimal resident care.

• Bachelor of Nursing with current APHRA is essential.
• Post grad qualification in aged care highly regarded.
• Strong and effective leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• A person-centred care mindset.
• A passion for nurturing a strong team environment.
• Ingrained passion and empathy for our residents.
• Proven track record in delivering quality clinical care within an aged care or acute setting.
• Excellent clinical assessment and triaging skills as well as strong care planning capabilities.
• Proven and demonstrated experience in fostering a reporting culture balanced with your effective investigative skills.
• An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes.

• Full time - 6 or 12 months fixed term contract
• Commencing February 2027
• Based at the Mercy Hospital for Women in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department
• Provide care for inpatients and patients in outpatients and the Emergency Department within the rules pertaining to Registrars/Residents
• Responsible for the completion of discharge summaries and coding. HMO roles may be able to be structured to individual interests and O&G experience with junior and senior O&G HMO positions available. Junior HMO roles (usually suited to those with 12 months experience in O&G) include the same rotations as junior HMOs but also usually include perinatal medicine rotation, mixed general and subspeciality gynaecology rotation, and a dedicated senior resident rotation. In addition, some HMOs (may be junior or senior) will have the opportunity to complete a rotation in gynae oncology.
• Positions are suitable for PGY3 or above and are accredited training for DRANZCOG or CWH
• Employment terms as per the Australian Medical Association (Victoria) Hospital Medical Officer Certified Agreement

• Current registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Highly developed and up to date clinical and theoretical knowledge
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with people at all levels and work collaboratively with a diverse team
