The Registered Nurse will liaise and communicate with the Clinical Nurse Consultant - Gynaecology Specialty Services, Gynaecology Outpatient Administration Officers, nursing and allied health staff and medical staff.

The Gynaecology Outpatient Department is a dedicated area comprising fourteen consulting and procedure rooms and is located on level 2 within the Royal Hospital for Women.

The Gynaecology Outpatient Department provides a comprehensive range of speciality ambulatory services including Benign Gynaecology, Endogynaecology, Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology, Menopause, Chronic Pelvic Pain, Contraception, Vulval Health , Urogynaecology, Surgical Preadmission, and procedure clinics including Hysteroscopy, insertion and removal of intra-uterine devices, Urodynamics and Colposcopy.

Services are provided on a referral basis for adult, adolescent and paediatric patients at a tertiary and quaternary level from the local community, and within NSW. Services are also provided to patients within the Randwick Hospital Campus, including from Prince of Wales and Sydney Children's Hospital.

The Registered Nurse is responsible to the Nursing Unit Manager with a professional reporting line to the Clinical Co-Director Gynaecology Services. Key Accountabilities 1. Provide direct high quality clinical services to patients and families within Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

• Compliance with AASW practice guidelines and professional standards, organizational policies and procedures.
• Comprehensive range of social work services provided including: completion of psycho-social assessments and interventions plans to address access, community and organizational supports, adjustment to illness and other supportive care strategies relevant to the care of cancer patients and their families
• Discharge planning in accordance with professional guidelines.
• Patient and team satisfaction with service provided.
• Documentation in accordance with professional guidelines and organisational practices.
• Data collection in line with organisational requirements.
• Engagement and self-reporting in Professional Supervision in accordance with AASW guidelines and organisational requirements

2. Provide professional supervision to social work students and less experienced staff. Provides teaching and education regarding oncology social work to internal and external stakeholders.

• Provide supervision as per professional standards and departmental requirements.

3. Contribute to the development, update and implementation of policies, procedures and protocols as required.

• Develop policies in consultation with Head, Social Work Department and within professional standards.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Provide culturally safe care navigation, support and advocacy for Aboriginal children, families, parents, carers and kin.

• Work alongside families to identify their health and wellbeing priorities and support them to achieve family-centred goals.
• Build connections between families and health, Aboriginal Community Controlled and other community services to support coordinated care.

• Holds or is working towards a Certificate III in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or a relevant Certificate III health qualification, as applicable to the position.

• Understands the impacts of intergenerational trauma, past policies and barriers to accessing health services experienced by Aboriginal families.
