The Open Support DFV Program aims to ensure that women and children are supported in ways that leave them empowered to make choices that prioritise their own safety & wellbeing and that lead them to experience and increased sense of control and hope for their futures.
The RoleAn exciting opportunity exists for a motivated early childhood professional to lead the development and implementation of a child and family support framework for Open Support Domestic & Family Violence Service. Your knowledge and experience in working with children and families who have experienced trauma will help to guide service delivery and drive the provision of high-quality, child centred, trauma informed, support. This role will allow you to utilise both your practical skills in working directly with children and families as well as your program and project management skills, to ensure that best practice is established and embedded into the service delivery framework at Open Support. Your experience in developing and delivering individual and group interventions will be crucial to your success in this role. You will also have a sound working knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines in relation to child protection, including the application of and compliance with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
Essential Criteria- Minimum Tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy or similar qualification in related discipline
- Experience supporting children and/or families affected by DFV to realise positive change, using a flexible, child centred and trauma informed approaches to service delivery.
- Demonstrated understanding of early childhood development and experience in developing and applying play based approaches within a family violence (or related) setting.
- Knowledge of specific issues facing children who have experience trauma and its impact on child development, attachment and behaviour.
- Demonstrate ability to create, implement and evaluate evidence based programs of support
- Ability to identify and effectively manage risk as it relates to children and families in a DFV setting
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and network with multiple service providers to ensure client's needs are met.
- Strong interpersonal, active listening and negotiation skills and experience in effectively managing difficult situations.
- Demonstrated skills in working both autonomously and within a small team context
- Knowledge of some of the specific issues facing migrants and people from CALD backgrounds who experience DFV.
- Completion of ECAV training or other approved child protections qualification, or willingness to work toward same.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence, Working With Children Check and NSW Police Check clearance

You will work across various environments, including family homes, disability group homes, day programs, schools, community, and/or ORS clinics.

- Demonstrated experience facilitating programs across areas such as domestic violence, suicide prevention, mental health or child safety.

- Experience designing psychoeducational or therapeutic group programs.

Role

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality nursing care to patients of the Gynaecology Outpatient Department consistent with SESHLD policies, procedures and standards.
The Registered Nurse is responsible to the Nursing Unit Manager with a professional reporting line to the Clinical Co-Director Gynaecology Services. The Registered Nurse will liaise and communicate with the Clinical Nurse Consultant - Gynaecology Specialty Services, Gynaecology Outpatient Administration Officers, nursing and allied health staff and medical staff.
The Gynaecology Outpatient Department is a dedicated area comprising fourteen consulting and procedure rooms and is located on level 2 within the Royal Hospital for Women.
The Gynaecology Outpatient Department provides a comprehensive range of speciality ambulatory services including Benign Gynaecology, Endogynaecology, Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology, Menopause, Chronic Pelvic Pain, Contraception, Vulval Health , Urogynaecology, Surgical Preadmission, and procedure clinics including Hysteroscopy, insertion and removal of intra-uterine devices, Urodynamics and Colposcopy.
Services are provided on a referral basis for adult, adolescent and paediatric patients at a tertiary and quaternary level from the local community, and within NSW. Services are also provided to patients within the Randwick Hospital Campus, including from Prince of Wales and Sydney Children's Hospital.
The Registered Nurse is responsible to the Nursing Unit Manager with a professional reporting line to the Clinical Co-Director Gynaecology Services. - Clinical experience in Gynaecological Nursing, acute Women's Health and/or clinic/outpatient setting is desirable but not essential with a demonstrated commitment to professional development.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT- Report to service manager on service performance with the aim of growing the existing service and client base
- Manage day to day operations, roll out of program changes and service/staff performance
- Support the efficient day to day service delivery through education, interventions, group work, assessment, referral and case work within a recovery orientated and person led service environment
- Monitor the performance of and provide support to direct reports to deliver quality, efficient and effective services
- Build strong referral pathways with internal and external stakeholders, resulting in beneficial outcomes for participants

The Wound Nurse position plays an integral role in the Chronic Wound Clinic within Outpatient Rehabilitation Services. About the roleAs our Community Services Consultant for the Disability Gateway, you will be the first point of contact for clients seeking support with information, services, and referrals. The Disability Gateway is a national program that assists people with disability, their families, and carers to find and access services across Australia.
In this role, you will connect with people who each have unique needs and circumstances. By listening with empathy and providing clear, accurate guidance, you will create an experience where clients feel heard, respected, and supported. You will also help individuals navigate complex systems, such as the NDIS and My Aged Care, and turn what might feel overwhelming into something more manageable.
This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 8:00pm. While you'll be part of the broader Support Centre, your focus will be on delivering the Disability Gateway program and ensuring every client receives the right support at the right time.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

About the DepartmentThe role of the Department of Education is to support Victorians to build prosperous, socially engaged, happy and healthy lives. About the DivisionSchools and Regional Services comprises 17 Areas within four regions across the state, as well as 5 central Divisions. Student Support Services (SSS) comprise the Allied Health professions of psychologists, speech pathologists, social workers, occupational therapists and behaviour analysts.
SSS staff are part of an Area based multi-disciplinary health, wellbeing, and inclusion team and, together with the Area school improvement team, help build the capability of schools to support student achievement, engagement, and wellbeing. To achieve these outcomes, SSS work in a multidisciplinary way to plan and deliver services in collaboration with schools in a multi-tiered system of support. SSS services include consultation, provision of a range of strategies and specialised support at individual, group, classroom, school, and Area levels.
About the RoleJoin our dynamic team as an occupational therapist where your role will include:
- Providing high level occupational therapy support services to school age students to improve student learning.
- Undertaking advanced wellbeing interventions that support students and schools
- Assisting the coordination of student support services within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Contributing to student wellbeing policy development
- Providing leadership, professionally and operationally, within a multi-disciplinary student support team.
- Supporting teachers in the development of educational programs, particularly in respect to students with additional needs.
- Providing authoritative professional advice in relation to issues involving student wellbeing.
- Collaborating with and provide advice to other student support services team members in respect to complex cases.
- Contributing to the professional development of other occupational therapy support service team members.
- Liaising with community service organisations, DFFH, hospitals, specialist programs and other professionals regarding the support needs for students.

Qualifications and Experience- Suitable experience in the initiation, development and implementation to programs, procedures and policies that foster resilience in children and young people and address their physical, social and emotional needs to support their educational needs
- Capacity to provide leadership within a multidisciplinary team delivering a range of wellbeing support services to school students
- Highly developed capacity to assess, conceptualise and analyse more complex student wellbeing issues that translate to improving student support services
- Highly developed communication, networking and interpersonal skills to liai se effectively with a wide range of people in the education community and beyond
- Demonstrated commitment to the Victorian Public Sector Values as detailed in Organisational Values section above
- A graduate or post-graduate qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- A valid Victorian Working with Children Check
- A full Drivers' License is required for this position.
