Position details

Join a growing and contemporary Cardiology Service and gain exposure to a broad range of acute, inpatient and outpatient cardiology presentations. Working alongside experienced Cardiologists and multidisciplinary colleagues, this role provides the opportunity to broaden clinical experience, develop cardiology knowledge and contribute to the delivery of high quality patient care.

About the Role

Working as part of a collaborative Cardiology team, the Registrar plays a key role in the assessment, treatment and ongoing management of patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular disease. The role provides broad exposure across inpatient, consultative and outpatient services, with opportunities to contribute to clinical decision making, education, quality improvement and service development. Supported by experienced Cardiologists, the position offers a diverse and rewarding clinical experience across a wide range of cardiovascular conditions.

Details of appointment

  • Fixed term - 12 month contract
  • Full time - 76 hours per fortnight
  • Day worker (on-call roster)
  • Commencing from as soon as possible

You will receive 10 hours of paid, protected training time per fortnight, pro rata.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time and casual vacancies.

Salary

Medical Practitioner Level 5 - 11 $138,978 - $194,675 per annum, pro rata + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging

  • Salary range is in accordance withMedical Practitioners Agreement 2025

In addition, the following allowances and benefit, calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Salary packaging options include a range of benefits like living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meals and entertainment every year.
  • North and North-West Tasmania Recruitment and Retention Allowance of $10,000 per annum, paid fortnightly.
  • Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $3278 - $4371 per annum, pro rata.
  • Professional development and accelerated pathways.
  • A range of leave entitlements, including study leave and Professional Development Support.
  • Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $14.50 per week per person, or $28.05 for a family.

  • Registration or eligible for Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
