Locum General Surgery Registrar required for a block placement at a Western Victoria Health Service from 16 November 2026 to 29 November 2026.

Wed 18 Nov 2026: 07:30 - 17:00 (OT+Ward) + On Call
Thu 19 Nov 2026: 07:30 - 17:00 (OT+Ward) + On Call
Fri 20 Nov 2026: 07:30 - 17:00 (OT)
Mon 23 Nov 2026: 07:30 - 17:00 (OT) + On Call
Thu 26 Nov 2026: 07:30 - 17:00 (OT+Ward) + On Call
Fri 27 Nov 2026: 07:30 - 17:00 (Ward) + On Call
Sat 28 Nov 2026: 08:30 - 13:30 + On Call
Sun 29 Nov 2026: 08:30 - 13:30 + On Call

Recalls/Overtime: On-call begins at shift start and ends at 22:00 when the Surgeon takes over. If an emergency procedure takes place, the registrar is expected to return to assist the surgeon until 07:30 the following morning. Paid for time spent at the health service with signed overtime form. No compensation for remote work/phone recalls.

• A 143 bed (including Aged Care) fully integrated rural public health service, employing around 630 staff and service a 100 km radius area with an estimated catchment area of around 35,000 people.
• Located on the Murray River in rural Victoria 344 km north west of Melbourne.
