Are you an accomplished leader ready to lead a high-acuity tertiary service through its next chapter?

Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) Women & Babies is one of the busiest maternity services in NSW. Within this service, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NNICU) provides highly specialised tertiary neonatal care for newborns requiring intensive and high dependency care.

We are looking for someone who can provide strategic, operational and clinical leadership across our NNICU and Special Care Nursery.

This is an opportunity to join the service at a pivotal time, with a major redevelopment underway that will transform the size, configuration and capability of the NNICU.

What you'll be doing

You will provide strong clinical and operational leadership across the NNICU and Special Care Nursery, working closely with medical, nursing, allied health and other clinical leaders.

You will:

• Lead and support a large and highly skilled nursing team.
• Promote safe, high-quality and family-centred care.
• Strengthen clinical governance and patient safety.
• Support recruitment, retention and workforce development.
• Develop education and career pathways for staff.
• Lead quality improvement and innovation.
• Support the implementation of new models of care.
• Prepare the team for the transition into the redeveloped NNICU.
• Build a positive, supportive and high-performing workplace culture.
• Recent management experience, including experience leading staff and managing services in a relevant clinical setting
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and engage with patients, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams
• Experience leading and supporting teams through organisational change and service transformation
• Neonatal or critical care experience will be highly valued, as will experience working within a tertiary or high-acuity environment.
