About the Role

The Royal Adelaide Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist with a strong interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) to join our tertiary referral Gastroenterology Unit. The role combines specialist IBD clinical care with opportunities to contribute to service development, multidisciplinary care, teaching, and research.

The successful applicant will play a key role in delivering and advancing the IBD service, including the management of complex IBD patients, leadership within the multidisciplinary team, and participation in clinical and translational research programs. The Unit has established strengths in IBD, primary sclerosing cholangitis, investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials, and consumer-engaged research.

Applicants with expertise in intestinal ultrasound and accredited training through recognised programs such as IBUS or GENIUS are particularly encouraged to apply.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Specialist outpatient and inpatient IBD care
• Leadership and development of the IBD service
• Participation in multidisciplinary IBD meetings
• Teaching and supervision of trainees and fellows
• Clinical research and quality improvement activities

About You

Bring your specialist expertise, clinical leadership and passion for gastroenterology to a team focused on quality patient care and innovation.

• Hold MBBS and FRACP Gastroenterology or equivalent
• Hold specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
• Bring expertise in IBD and gastrointestinal function testing
• Hold credentials for gastroscopy, colonoscopy and PEG
• Bring research, teaching, leadership and quality improvement skills
