Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a dedicatedStaff Specialist in Anaesthetics to join our team at Prince Alfred Hospital!

The primary purpose of the role is to provide high quality clinical services in Anaesthesia, and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Anaesthetics Department and Hospital as required. The Staff Specialist will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.

This is a Staff Specialist position in Anaesthesia in a Level 6 Adult Hospital caring for high acuity and complexity patients. The Staff Specialist will be part of a cohesive anaesthetic team who provides specialist anaesthetic services to a broad range of specialities. This role will involve collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure clinical services provided are safe and achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Depending on the skills and experience there may be an opportunity to participate in the cardiothoracic anaesthetic service. The Staff Specialist may also be credentialed to provide anaesthesia services to the Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics, Professor Marie Bashir Centre and Sydney Dental Hospital.

The successful applicant will be a current registered Medical practitioner, registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.

Position is currently available. The department is seeking applicants with additional training and experience in adult liver transplantation specifically.

Salaryand conditions are in accordance with the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.
